Hello, my name is Tim Caughron. As President of the Kern Law Enforcement Association, I am proud to represent the fine men and women of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney Investigators. KLEA is the recognized bargaining unit for Sheriff’s Deputies, Senior Deputies, Sergeants and DA Investigators. Our organization comprises over 500 members who proudly call Kern County their home. We are your friends, neighbors and relatives and are committed to making our community safer every day.

I am honored to have the trust and confidence of my membership to represent their interests through contract negotiations, policy negotiations, representation and ensuring each member is afforded due process through legal and administrative processes. I embrace the KLEA mission statement and am guided by its directive:

“To partner with the Kern County Sheriff and District Attorney to provide professional public safety services to our communities by attracting highly qualified and competent officers through honest labor representation, fair wages and competitive benefits. To further support our community through local partnerships and financial support.”

I am appreciative of the local community support that is given to the brave men and women of the Kern County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office, and I wish to thank everyone who supports and recognizes the difficulty and complexity facing our law enforcement community. As our members continue to work diligently every day to improve the standard of living of our community, I will work tirelessly to fairly represent and protect their interests, preserve their right to due process and seek to improve the employment conditions, wages and benefits that have long been neglected.

Lastly, as President, I vow to continue our history of community outreach and support. KLEA has always supported local groups, charities and causes. As members of this community, we believe it is important to partner with our local organizations to recognize and assist efforts that help improve the quality of life for our residents, neighbors and friends.
